Mr. Manuel Antonio Durán Pilarte, ambassador-designate of the Dominican Republic to Jamaica, presented the Letters of Credence to His Excellency Sir Patrick Allen today at King’s House.
Ambassador Durán Pilarte is a seasoned consultant with over 35 years of experience in auditing, finance, and corporate advising. He has served as Consul General in both Miami and Cap-Haitien, with a strong focus on diaspora engagement and consular affairs.
Jamaica and the Dominican Republic have shared diplomatic relations since 1964, rooted in geographic proximity and people-to-people connections. In recent years, both countries have made steady progress in deepening ties through tourism, trade, air connectivity and cultural exchange, laying the foundation for a vibrant and mutually beneficial partnership.
