Governor-General The Most Hon. Sir Patrick Allen has expressed regret at the passing of the Honourable Jeffrey McKitty, Custos Rotulorum for the parish of St. Mary. Custos McKitty died this morning after a period of illness.
Sir Patrick Allen described Custos McKitty as a true Jamaican patriot and commended him for his exemplary commitment to the country, especially in the tourism industry which he served for more than a quarter of a century. He said Mr. McKitty had an endearing passion to see the development of St. Mary become a reality and for youth to be encouraged to develop their fullest potential. The Governor-General urges that those with whom he shared this vision, ensure the completion of the work they began with him.
Mr. McKitty was appointed Custos of St. Mary on January 14, 2013. He is survived by wife Yvonne and two daughters to whom Sir Patrick Allen has conveyed his deepest condolences.
