On Tuesday June 16, 2014, Governor-General, His Excellency the Most Honourable Sir Patrick Allen was the special guest of the Jamaica National Building Society at a luncheon in his honour at their Café Oasis Restaurant in Halfway Tree.
JNBS is one of three corporate entities which have benefited so far from the Governor-General’s corporate visits for the year 2014. These visits are strategically designed to highlight their contribution to national development and to encourage them in their operations.
Sir Patrick Allen explained that he was motivated by his belief often expressed through the mantra of his ‘I Believe Initiative’ that is, to use what is right with Jamaica to fix what is wrong with Jamaica.
The Governor-General noted the ease with which JNBS had supported the IBI projects from the onset. He congratulated them on their willingness to support similar projects which focused on improving the life of Jamaicans.
“I see where Jamaica National is building young people and encouraging their development. I am very pleased about this as this sort of focus given to our youth is coming from a Jamaican company. I commend you here at JN for being committed to our nation building process”, said The Governor-General.
During his tour, His Excellency also commended the staff of JNBS for their hard-work and diligence.
“You are the backbone of this company and I am sure it is because of all of your efforts why JNBS can achieve its goals. Continue to work hard and to give of your best in your different areas”, he said.
