King’s House, Jamaica¬ – The Governor-General’s Achievement Awards (GGAA) took place on Thursday, 29th June, is set to deliver an awe-inspiring event, recognizing the outstanding achievements of 37 Awardees from the Counties of Cornwall, Middlesex, and Surrey. These remarkable individuals have excelled in academics and demonstrated unwavering dedication to uplifting their communities through impactful outreach projects, volunteerism, and other notable acts of service.
Each Awardee’s story represents a unique tale of triumph, humility, and selfless service. They embody the essence of the mantra adapted from an excerpt of Sir Patrick’s inaugural speech in 2009: “Using what is wrong with Jamaica to fix what is right with Jamaica.”
The Governor-General’s Achievement Awards (GGAA) is an esteemed recognition programme that honours individuals in Jamaica who have achieved exceptional success in academics and have made significant contributions to their communities.
The awards celebrate outstanding acts of service and inspire others to pursue excellence and community upliftment as they are pinned by The Governor-General with GGAA special pins and are now known as Ambassadors of The Governor-General and The Governor-General’s Programme for Excellence at large.
