Temporary Assignment (1 Year in the first instance)
Salary: $2,246,451.00 – $2,670,325.00 per annum plus applicable allowance
The Press Secretary, under the supervision of The Governor-General’s Secretary has the responsibility of crafting and executing the communications policies and strategies for The Governor-General; ensuring adequate and appropriate coverage and exposure of The Governor-General and his activities to the people of Jamaica, are consistent with the requirements of the Constitution and with the responsibilities of the Office of His Excellency The Governor General and Staff.
The incumbent has oversight responsibility for the Public Relations Unit and manages the performance of the Public Relations Manager and Public Relations Officer.
Minimum Required Qualifications/Experience:
• Master’s Degree in Mass Communication or equivalent from a recognized tertiary institution, with five (5) years progressively responsible Journalism/Public Relations experience;
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication or equivalent from a recognized tertiary institution, with seven (7) years progressively responsible Journalism/Public Relations experience.
