According to Karen Cadien of the PCOA’s Communication Unit, several concerns and issues were raised by persons, who attended a forum in the parish late last year, so a decision was taken to hold a follow-up session to allow discourse, aimed at addressing these issues.<\/p>\n
The PCOA, as part of its mandate, seeks to encourage better police-community relations, and to hold members of the security forces to a greater level of accountability.<\/p>\n
It also attempts, through various public consultations, to inform Jamaicans about its mandate and plans regarding the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) and its auxiliaries, the Island Constabulary Force and Rural Police.<\/p>\n
