The Governor-General’s Programme for Excellence (GGPE) is pleased to announce the \u2018I Believe’ Initiative’s <\/strong>educational partnership with Monroe College (New York) and Scotia Foundation for the second Bachelor in Information Technology Scholarship. The Scholarship covers full tuition for the duration of 4 years beginning August 2015 and is tenable at the New Rochelle Campus of Monroe College, New York.<\/p>\n

Eligible candidates must be a resident Jamaican national and a graduate of a Jamaican high school or college.\u00a0 Additionally, they should have a minimum of seven CXC or CSEC passes at grades one and two and at least three CAPE passes at grades one, two and three.\u00a0 Candidates should also possess a strong sense of volunteerism and demonstrate a willingness to contribute to Jamaica’s growth and development.\u00a0 The recipient will be required to fund the full cost for living and accommodation expenses for the duration of their study.<\/p>\n

Qualified Jamaican students desirous of pursuing a career in Information Technology <\/strong>and wanting to be considered for the scholarship <\/strong>must apply to Monroe College by May 1, 2015 and be accepted.\u00a0 Applicants may apply online at www.monroecollege.edu<\/a>. Along with the application candidates must submit their high school transcripts, CSEC\/CXC\/CAPE results and two letters of recommendation.\u00a0 The completed IBI-Monroe-ScotiaFoundation Scholarship Application form available at www.ibelieveinitiative.org<\/a> should be emailed to ibi@ibelieveinitiative.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n

All candidates must complete an interview with a Monroe College admissions counselor via phone or Skype.
