The Governor-General, His Excellency the Most Hon. Sir Patrick Allen has reappointed Mr. Terrence Williams to another five year term as Commissioner of the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) effective July 29. Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony at King’s House on Monday (July 27), the Governor-General told the Commissioner to “seek the truth and follow that truth, knowing that the people of Jamaica are depending on you to be transparent, vigilant and fair.”<\/p>\n Sir Patrick Allen also urged greater collaboration between INDECOM and the security forces, as well as security oversight bodies, in order to rid the country of the vices prevailing in society. “Work with the security forces to obtain optimal result in your work, he told the Commissioner. “Minimize the \u2018independent’ and accentuate the \u2018investigations’ in order to increase collaboration and make Jamaica the place ofchoice\u00a0<\/p>\n to live, work, raise families and do business.”<\/p>\n Commissioner Terrence Williams expressed appreciation for the trust that has been reposed in him by way of his reappointment.
