Bucknor, Clarendon \u2013 Governor-General His Excellency Sir Patrick Allen officially unveiled the Bucknor Community Internet and Homework Centre on October 31st, marking a significant milestone for the community.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis centre stands as a testament to what we can achieve when we unite our resources and strength for a common cause,\u201d stated Governor-General Sir Patrick Allen during the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.<\/p>\n

Acknowledging the support from esteemed contributors, including D&G, FLOW, local businesses, and residents, he emphasized that their commitment represents an investment in the future of the community.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy endorsing this project, you have showcased that businesses are not just profit-making entities; they are integral pillars of our community, capable of catalyzing transformative change,\u201d remarked the Governor-General.<\/p>\n

Highlighting the remarkable initiative of the youth, described as the “torchbearers of our future,” he commended their leadership in making the centre a reality. David Thomas, played a pivotal role in spearheading the project.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is uncommon to witness such passion and leadership from our younger generation. They are not merely leaders of tomorrow but the movers and shakers of today, embracing the IBI mantra, \u2018Using what is right with Jamaica, to fix what is wrong with Jamaica\u2019<\/em>,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the event, Project Lead David Thomas expressed, \u201cThis initiative stemmed from a shared need, and I am proud to have led this project from start to finish. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to His Excellency and all our sponsors. Today would not have been possible without your support.\u201d<\/p>\n

David Thomas, the Project Lead, is also an I Believe Initiative Ambassador. The I Believe Initiative, originating from Sir Patrick\u2019s Inaugural Address as Governor-General in 2009, has invited over 300 individuals to join the network of change makers focusing on mobilizing resources for education, building resilient families, and empowering young people.<\/p>\n
