Describing the late Observer newspaper Photo Journalist Brian Cummings as someone who “always got the picture right”, Governor-General Sir Patrick Allen has lauded him as dedicated professional who always pursued excellence in the execution of his work.
The Governor-General joined members of the Media and Communications Community in paying tribute to Mr Cummings who passed last week.
Sir Patrick said Mr. Cummings took the commendable path of continuing education throughout his career and in so doing, not only sought to do his best, but he also encouraged others to do likewise.
The Governor-General added “Events at King’s House benefited significantly from his creative skills and the love which he clearly had for the work which he did. His familiar presence will be sorely missed as he takes his final leave of us, but we will always be grateful for the graciousness which he displayed on his countless appearances on these premises.
“We extend sincere condolences to his family, his friends, and his professional colleagues. We value the very happy memories which we have of him, and trust that all who knew him will also treasure and appreciate the legacy he leaves behind,” Sir Patrick said.
