On Tuesday, March 25, His Excellency was honoured to host the Annual Custodes Meeting and Luncheon at King’s House. The day commenced with the Custodes presenting their Annual Reports to the Governor-General, per Section 18 of the Custos Rotulorum Act. Following the meeting, a luncheon was held, during which His Excellency expressed his profound appreciation for the unwavering dedication and exemplary service they continue to offer to the nation.
During the luncheon, Sir Patrick took the opportunity to extend special congratulations and farewell wishes to the Hon. Norma Walters, CD, JP, former Custos Rotulorum for the Parish of St. Ann.
Custos Walters served with distinction from March 13, 2014, to September 16, 2024, displaying unparalleled dedication and leadership. Under her stewardship, the number of Justices of the Peace in her parish grew by 50%, a testament to her commitment to justice and civic engagement. Her passionate advocacy for youth empowerment and education has left an indelible mark on the community, and her tireless work in fostering civic responsibility and nation-building has established a legacy of service and empowerment.
The Custos Rotulorum serves as the Governor-General’s representative in each parish and is the esteemed chairman of the Parish Justices of the Peace Association.
