Governor-General expresses Sympathy for Caribbean Neighbours

Governor-General Sir Patrick Allen who has been in dialogue his with Governmental Officials in St. Vincent and the Grenadines from early last week has pledged his solidarity for the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

His Excellency expressed that, what has happened in St. Vincent and the Grenadines and the surrounding region is an act of God and nature and as such Caribbean people less affected by the La Soufriere volcanic eruption should be sympathetic to those affected.

Sir Patrick Allen also expressed that this is a time when churches and other civic organization should consider rallying support in whatever form to help alleviate the anxiety and stress of the situation.

Sir Patrick Allen who is patron of the Governor-General’s I Believe Initiative, says with the recent evacuation of the citizens, the programme will now quickly do an assessment to respond to the needs of  their  Eastern Caribbean neighbours.

The Governor-General’s Programme for Excellence is a service oriented programme which responds tangibly to the needs of families, educational activities and support for young people.
