Governor General Sir Patrick Allen has expressed regret at the recent passing of St Elizabeth Custos Albert Farquharson. His Excellency remembers him as a dedicated representative, who served as Custos for 15 years. Sir Patrick noted that the Custos was an excellent leader who carried out his duties with commitment and professionalism.
‘It is sad to have lost another one of our great Jamaicans. Custos Farquharson served in his office for 15 years with dedication and the highest level of professionalism,’ the Governor General said.
Custos Farquharson, who was heavily involved in Early Childhood Education as a teacher, and principal, was also a philanthropist, and a storyteller. Several of his plays were performed at the annual fundraising events sponsored by the St Elizabeth Lay Magistrates Association.
Custos Farquharson, 84, died last Friday. He is survived by two sons.
