His Excellency Sir Patrick Allen, Governor-General and President of St. John Ambulance Jamaica has expressed deep regret at the death of Mr. Victor Rhone, former Board Chairman and Commander of St. John Jamaica.
“Lady Allen and I and the King’s House Staff are deeply saddened by the passing of Mr. Rhone who made his peaceful transition late yesterday evening,” Governor-General Sir Patrick Allen stated.
In tribute to Mr. Rhone His Excellency concurred with other members of St. John Ambulance Jamaica who said that, “Mr. Rhone will be especially remembered for his signature voluntary service with St John and for helping to shape the transformation of the Organisation to a more viable one.”
It was only two Sundays ago that Mr. Rhone shared pleasantries with His Excellency at the St. John 116th Anniversary Service at St. Luke’s Church in Cross Road, St. Andrew.
In recent years, Mr. Rhone’s focus has been that of leading the Recognition Committee for St John Jamaica and recommending outstanding volunteers and members deserving of recognition for consideration by the National Chancery as well as by the Order’s Chancery in the UK for promotion within the Order of St John.
Governor-General The Most Honourable Sir Patrick Allen was bestowed the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of Saint John of Jerusalem (KSt.J) in 2012.
