Their Excellencies the Most Honourable Sir Patrick Allen and the Most Honourable Lady Allen express regret at the passing of Deputy Governor-General’s Secretary – Personal (DGGS-P), Captain Delando Coriah on Saturday, March 30. Captain Coriah 41, was appointed to the position on December 4, 2018.
Captain Coriah was the first Aide-de- Camp to serve Sir Patrick Allen between 2009 and 2011. At the end of His tenure at King’s House he returned to the Jamaica Defence Force Coast Guard.
Describing the late Captain as a visionary, kind, proactive, sincere and authentic individual who always ensured his job was done to the best, Sir Patrick said Captain Coriah had left an indelible impact on the Staff at King’s House during the four months he served in the capacity as DGGS-P.
The Governor-General reflected that Captain Coriah brought an objective perspective to projects, was not afraid to share his opinions, and was committed to continuous improvement of processes.
Sir Patrick and Lady Allen have expressed sincere condolence to Captain Coriah’s parents, son(Daniel), other family members, and friends.
Meanwhile, The Governor-General met with the King’s House Staff on Monday morning, April 1 and encouraged them to honor the memory of Captain Coriah by resolving to carry on with his vision. He added, “I trust each one of you will find comfort and assurance in the words of our Lord, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’” He suggested that persons take a moment to think about the brevity of life.
