Their Excellencies Governor- General the Most Honourable Sir Patrick Allen and the Most Hon. Lady Allen joined Members of the Royal Family, Heads of State and Governors- General from the Commonwealth and other Realm territories for The Queen’s official 90th birthday celebrations in London, England, on the weekend (June 9- 12, 2016).
The celebratory activities commenced with Her Majesty meeting her Governors- General to be followed by a National Service of Thanksgiving at St. Paul’s Cathedral and a luncheon where members of the Royal Family, specially invited guests, Governors- General and their spouses were present.
Another key activity of Her Majesty’s celebration was her hosting of a public tea party to raise funds to support the over 600 charities of which she is Patron. This inaugural event attracted over 10,000 guests, demonstrating their love, respect and adoration of the British Monarchy.
Culminating the festivities was the Trooping of the Colours on June 12, an event which added much splendor to the celebrations which commenced on June 9.
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her actual birthday on April 21, 2016 and customarily celebrates an official birthday in June when the English weather is expected to be fair. This tradition dates back over 250 years in British History.
