Governor-General Sir Patrick Allen has commended the Royal Air Forces Association Jamaica Branch for their efforts to advance the welfare of servicemen and ex-service men across Jamaica. He was speaking at the launch of their annual fund-raising event, Wings Appeal, at King’s House today.
Sir Patrick said that each year, the fundraiser allow Jamaicans to remember those who answered the “call to combat,” regardless of certain danger. “They were there when humanity needed them and now it is our time to show our appreciation by donating to the RAFA’s Annual Wings Appeal,” His Excellency said.
He also praised the Association for its invaluable support of the veterans and their families. Their gracious actions were dubbed a symbol of “friendship and duty of care” which all Jamaicans can emulate.
